Pick up and Delivery

In-Person Position  |  1+ hours/month  |  Flexible schedule  |  Minimal supervision required

Role Overview

As a Pick-up and Delivery Volunteer, you're the critical link between our Birthday Market and the families we serve by delivering Birthday Packages to partner agencies, who then get them into the hands of the families
celebrating.

​

What You'll Do

  • Pick up Birthday Packages (gifts) and sweet treats from Birthday Connections headquarters.

  • Deliver both items to designated partner agencies.

  • Complete deliveries Monday through Friday between 9 am and 1 pm (special timing arrangements available if needed).

  • Follow pickup and delivery instructions via SignUp Genius and on each Birthday Package.

  • Report volunteer hours monthly.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license required.

  • Ability to lift and transport Birthday Packages and sweet treats.

  • Willingness to sign confidentiality and nondisclosure forms.

Gift Research

Virtual Position  |  Up to 3 hours/month  |  Flexible schedule  |  Regular check-ins with ED

Role Overview

Be our "online window shopper." Discover and curate gift ideas that keep our Birthday Market fresh, exciting, and stocked with great selections for every child.

What You'll Do

  • Research and identify new gift options across a range of ages, interests, and price points.

  • Suggest additions to the Birthday Market platform based on trends, quality, and value.

  • Ensure gift selections reflect diverse interests and inclusive representation.

  • Share findings and recommendations with the Executive Director.

What We're Looking For

  • Love browsing and researching products online.

  • Understanding of children's interests across age groups.

  • Eye for quality and value.

  • Commitment to diverse, inclusive representation.

On-Call/Last-Minute Support

Hybrid  |  1-3 hours/month (as needed)  |  Flexible schedule  |  Led by ED | Short-notice availability

Role Overview
As part of our On-Call Support Team, you'll receive an email when there’s a last minute task to be completed. That could be a last-minute delivery, an extra pair of hands for a project, or a quick errand that supports our mission.

​

What You'll Do

  • Respond to emails for last minute tasks that need completed. i.e. deliveries, pickups, errands, project support, etc.

  • Step in where needed depending on the ask.

  • Communicate availability promptly so we can match requests to volunteers who can help.

  • Complete tasks reliably and follow up if something can't be done in time.


What We're Looking For

  • Flexibility to say yes on short notice.

  • Comfortable with a variety of tasks. Training or how-to instructions will be provided, if necessary.

  • Own transportation, if deliveries or errands are involved.

  • A team player willing to pitch in wherever the need is greatest.
